A native of Bladenboro, NC, Marchall was born the third youngest of 14 children. Bishop Brunson accepted the calling to the gospel at the age of 17 and preached his first Initial Sermon at the age of 18 at St. Luke A.M.E. Zion Church in Bladenboro, NC. He resided in Bladenboro until the age of 19 when he enlisted in the United States Army.

Bisop Brunson served in the United States Army until retirement. His military beginnings was a Flight Medic in Kentucky. He traveled abroad to Germany and Korea where he served as a Chaplain Assistant. He also served as an assistant Pastor in Kirchberg, Germany.

​

Upon returning to the United States, Bishop Brunson served as one of the sons of Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Doctor John D Fuller Sr. before relocating to Raleigh, NC.

​

Upon the guidance of the Holy Spirit Bishop Brunson founded Morning Star World Harvest Church in October of 1997. With 29 members, Bishop Brunson embarked upon a mission near to his heart. In the words of Bishop Brunson "You serve God by serving God's people" and his vision is to reach out and help those who are in need.

​

Bishop Brunson attended Sullivan University of Kentucky were he studied Biblical Studies of Religion. He also attended Fayetteville Technical Community College where he received an Associate Degree in Therapeutic Recreation.

Bishop Brunson joined Kingdom Connection Fellowship in 2016 and was consecrated Bishop on July 19, 2018 under the Kingdon Connection Fellowship presiding Bishop Charles Ross.

Bishop Brunson is happily married to Ericka Brunson. They have four children; Jamila (deceased), Ahmad, Jaleesa, & Chantrice and three grandchildren.
